A Look Back at the Workshops in the 4 LOT3 Territories

Wednesday, 29 January 2025

The workshops have concluded for the 4 territories of LOT3. Here are some images from the citizen workshops that took place in the Centre-Val de Loire region.

Workshop 1 « Notre territoire » “Our Territory”

Goal: Share a common understanding of the energy transition, understand its challenges, and present the profile of the territory.

The workshop began with a presentation of the project and the citizen workshop approach.

Next, participants were divided into small groups to get to know each other better and facilitate discussions on energy transition issues, using games about energy consumption, energy sources, etc. This led to a general realization about the necessity of starting the energy transition.
It was also an opportunity to take stock of existing local initiatives in terms of energy sobriety and renewable energy production and to begin brainstorming solutions they would like to see emerge.

Workshop 2 « Du constat à l’action » “From Observation to Action”

The goal of this second workshop was to continue gathering ideas for actions to implement, especially on renewable energy production and reducing energy consumption to address energy transition challenges.

To do this, participants were divided into 5 groups, each focusing on a different theme: Renewable Energy, Sobriety: food, housing, consumption.

For the “Energy Sobriety” group: Participants thought about collective actions they would like to get involved in within their territory, discussed these at their table to make them realistic, and prioritized them. The actions identified as priorities would be revisited in Workshop 4.
For the “Renewable Energy Production” group: Discussions took place based on examples of several citizen-led renewable energy projects to understand what can be done, draw inspiration from these, and identify the values that unite the people in this renewable energy group to build a citizen project together.

Workshop 3 « La transition concrètement » “The Transition in Practice”

Exchange and inspiration from concrete energy transition projects during a morning split into two parts:
First, testimony from “sobriety” collectives as well as energy professionals (ENEDIS, GRDF, Énergie Partagée), followed by 4 visits to choose from: a visit to a sobriety project or 3 visits to renewable energy production projects, allowing participants to discover concrete examples of energy transition actions.

Visited sites:
CC of Touraine Vallée de l’Indre: A photovoltaic canopy on a heavy goods vehicle parking lot, Methaconnect, the ALSH of Montbazon (geothermal and geocooling), and La Caverne Tri tout (focused on sobriety).

CC Touraine Ouest Val de Loire: A ground-mounted photovoltaic park, Méthaconnect, the biomass system at the Savigné-sur-Lathan middle school, and the third-place “L’Après”.

CC Val de Cher Controis: Citizen project of rooftop photovoltaic panels, Métha-Blois-Nord, the Orchidium greenhouses (geothermal), and the collective composter in Sassay.

CC Eguzon – Argenton Vallée de la Creuse: Ground-mounted photovoltaic panels, a methanization site, the Argenton town hall (geothermal), and the frog gardens (focused on sobriety).

Atelier 4 « Notre transition » “Our Transition”

During this fourth workshop, the goal was to form citizen collectives with a project or a common interest that unites them.

Participants were once again divided into thematic groups according to their interests. It was an opportunity to simulate a first collective meeting and work together on the objectives and values of the projects.
The collectives were then invited to schedule their next working meeting outside of the workshop framework.
However, support continues remotely through training and webinars available, as well as networking with other collectives created during the workshops in Lots 1 and 2.
